Your privacy at The Node

This Privacy Policy explains how The Node — a members-only coworking network operated by Glumia Solutions ("The Node", "we", "us", or "our") — collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the The Node mobile app, website, and related services (the "Services"). We are based in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
1. Who we are
The Services are provided by Glumia Solutions, operator of The Node coworking network. For any privacy questions or requests, contact info@thenode.work or visit thenode.work.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account & identity — your name and email address, created and managed through our authentication provider (Clerk) when you sign up.
- Member profile — your public
@handle, display name, optional bio and avatar photo, and your selected home location. - Bookings & usage — desks and meeting rooms you book, check-ins, event RSVPs, and print jobs you submit.
- Files you upload for printing — documents and images you send to be printed. These are stored only briefly and automatically deleted after printing (see §6).
- Waitlist & enquiries — if you join our waitlist or contact us via the website, the details you submit (such as email, name, and city).
- Communications — messages you send us, e.g. support requests.
Information collected automatically
- Device & push identifiers — a push notification token for your device (via Apple APNs / Google FCM) so we can deliver notifications you've enabled.
- App activity — actions within the app such as bookings, prints, and content you interact with, used to operate and improve the Services.
- Technical data — basic information needed to deliver and secure the Services, such as session and connection data.
Payment information
When you pay for a membership, booking, or print top-up, payment is processed by Paystack. Your card or bank details are entered directly with Paystack and are not collected or stored by The Node. We keep a record of the transaction (amount, date, purpose, and a payment reference) to manage your account and provide invoices.
3. How we use your information

4. Legal bases for processing
Where applicable law (including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, where relevant, the GDPR) requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Services); your consent (e.g. optional push notifications, which you can withdraw); our legitimate interests (securing and improving the Services); and compliance with legal obligations.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, to deliver the Services:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of The Node, our members, or others.
6. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. In particular:
- Uploaded print files are stored briefly and automatically purged after the job is processed.
- Account, booking, and transaction records are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution needs.
7. Your rights & choices
Subject to applicable law, you may request to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email info@thenode.work. You can also manage notification permissions in your device settings and in the app.
Account & data deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing info@thenode.work from your registered address, or via in-app account settings where available. We will delete or anonymise your data except where we must retain certain records to comply with legal obligations (for example, financial/transaction records).
8. Security
We protect your data using encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to address vulnerabilities promptly.
9. Children
The Services are intended for adults (18 years and older). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Some of our service providers operate outside Nigeria. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with applicable data protection law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
